reason 6 serial number mac mini
When you have no serial number, use one of these third party sites to find your model, production year, time in year(early, middle, late) is a great resource to isolate your model based on EMC#, Apple part number, and other features.
During 2000 to 2009, the serial number also made it easier to identify the Macs, as the 3rd, 4th, and 5th character of the serial number referred to the weekand year of the shipment date. Thus for serial numbers where x can be any letter or number, xxABCxxxxx serial numbers would refer to an A which is the last digit of the year, and BC=week of the year. xx905xxxx is the fifth week of 2009. You can then use Wikipedia to figure out what date the release was, and if it was after a specific retail release of an operating system to determine which pre bundled disc it came with, and which later retail discs the Mac could work with.
On the underside, both have a black plastic cap that conceals a metal panel, but as confirmed by a teardown from site sponsor OWC, there is little reason to open the "2020 M1" Mac mini because the processor, graphics processor, RAM, and storage are not upgradable. For all practical purposes, the "2020 M1" Mac mini is disposable.
P.S. got to this discussion from website where I was checking serial number on Macbook Pro on eBay. Folks at the website sell a little USB device with LED display that they say reveals the firmware password on boot. Device costs a LOT.
My Macbook Pro is locked by a theif using the findmyiphone in my stolen IPHONE 6, I already showed to apple my receipt and my box but they cant allow my mac to be reformatted because the serial number is not indicated in the receipt(not my problem anymore because the store forgot to include it ). Already Contacted apple security but they are very strict. The apple ID in the mac is registered under my name matches my ID but they never considered. I hate how they misjudge and dont help their loyal customer. I will not buy apple device again if they cant help the true owner of the device. I already brought it to the apple service center and paid a hundred dollar just to reformat it (not under warranty anymore) but it was not refundable and still my mac is locked because apple does not honor my receipt. Please teach me how to reformat it my self (contact me using my email). Thank you
Let's start by quickly covering the two main identifiers for your Mac mini: the model and serial number. The serial number is unique to your device and is useful if you need to track down spare parts or check warranty coverage. But for the most part, all you'll need is your Mac mini model name. With the model name, you can check for compatibility with the latest software updates, find the correct Mac mini accessories, or get an estimate if you are selling or trading in your computer. Below, we'll cover some simple methods to help you find your Mac mini model information and serial number. If you're interested in learning more about your Mac mini, you can also check out our free Tip of the Day.
Mac mini not working? You can also find the serial number printed on the underside of your Mac or on the original packaging next to the barcode label. Because the serial number also contains the model information, you can track down your device's model once you have this handy number. Simply click the link to this Apple page and enter your serial number to look up your Mac model. The font on the back of your Mac mini is very small, so if you prefer not to strain your eyes, I recommend following the steps in the section below.
If your Mac mini isn't working or you don't have it with you, you can also look up your Mac mini information with your Apple ID. For this method, you'll need to know the Apple ID you use for your Mac. Then, follow the steps below to find your Mac mini serial number and model:
The list below shows all Mac mini models. While rarely needed, we've also listed the Mac mini model numbers (also called family numbers) and model identifiers. Model numbers are listed on the bottom of your Mac mini along with the serial number, but there's a reason this method isn't listed as a way to identify your Mac mini in the methods above.
While your Mac mini model number initially seems like a good way to identify your model, the table shows why you need to be careful if you're trying to find this information with a model number or model identifier. Here's the tricky thing: because model numbers and model identifiers only identify specific characteristics of a model, they can be used for more than one generation. For example, you'll notice that Apple Mac mini A1347 applies to four generations of Mac minis, from 2010 to 2014. In contrast, Mac mini A1993 is unique, and you can use this number to identify the correct 2018 Mac mini model. So if your model number or model identifier is listed for more than one Mac mini, you'll need to backtrack and use one of the methods above to identify your Mac mini model.
I was told by Dragon support that their registration database is broken and that they are unable to add new serial numbers. But according to the comments below people have been able to purchase a new version of Dragon (in Feb 2021) and still have it register via the Dragon database. So it appears that the registration of a newly purchased version of Dragon still works.
This means that you can deactivate your version of Dragon on one computer and then activate it using the same serial number on a different computer. I have done this multiple times and can confirm that it works. If anyone finds that this stops working please let me know!
No. If you happen to sell your computer with it still connected to your Dragon account or your computer dies and you are unable to de-activate it, it is stuck forever. This is even the case if you formatted the hard drive and deleted dragon from the computer. One of your Dragon activations is still locked to the serial number of that computer. Unless you go in and deactivate Dragon on that computer, it is locked to that computer forever.
Yes you just open preferences, go to Licence and your serial number will be there! You should also inactivate it from old computers if you ar into using it anymore. I think you can have 3 activations.
I have used Dragon Professional 6.0 on my MAC for several years. Last week I ran a program to remove some applications and it also changed how Dragon operates. I can no longer dictate into Pages, Google Chrome e-mail, Athena EMR, nor can I dictate this reply. It does respond when dictating into Microsoft Word, so I know that it can work. I recently purchased a new copy of Dragon Professional Individual for MAC. When I tried to install it, it loaded over the old version, in the same place, and used the old serial number. Nothing was fixed.
In the diagram below, a command in Powershell lists some values regarding the above two USB devices. Clearly, what we have been calling the serial number does not conflate with what the identification in Powershell calls a serial number.
I tried the setup on a different computer we will call Computer 2. As if by magic, GSmartControl now showed me all of the correct information including serial number. Well now I have even bigger problems. Why would it work properly on Computer 2 but not Computer 1? What does the computer have to do with it?
OK, once deactivation is complete, you are free to go ahead and enter your serial number key to activate a copy of the software installed elsewhere, or use it to reactivate the same application on that PC after reinstalling (for example, if you are changing disk drives or upgrading operating systems). And you should be all set.
STEP 7: Once the Installer is initialized, another window will appear providing 3 choices on how to proceed. You can either Install with a serial number; or, Start my subscription; or, Install a trial. (See Exhibit 7).
STEP 8: Presuming that you want to install with a serial number, click that option. A window for the Adobe software license agreement appears. Click Accept. Then, a window appears where you enter your serial number. Enter your serial number and then click Next. (See Exhibit 8)
I was trying to install Adobe CS6 Design & Web Premium on my MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014). The OS for it is OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.6 (if this helps). I had read both parts of your comments and I started following your steps. When I got to step 7, the window did not give me the 3 options to Install with a serial number; or, Start my subscription; or, Install a trial. Instead, I had the 2 options to Install with a serial number or Install a trial. Rather than dwell upon it too much, I chose to install it with my serial number. After accepting the license agreement and inputting my serial number, I did not see a Sign In Required window as seen in exhibit 9 like you had. Instead, I had gotten a window like this:
There are several reasons you may see this error, but a common one is a mismatch of the serial number format. All Eventide plug-ins have a serial number in the form of XX-###### where XX represents a two-letter sequence defining the product type and ###### is a 6 digit number. All plugins also have a 16 digit license key in the format ****-****-****-**** where each * can be either a letter or number. The license key is entered on the second page of the registration process. 2ff7e9595c
